JUMBO’s history is based on providing safe and stable products since 1969
JUMBO’s story begins with the first director Birger Adsbøl. He starts as a contractor and plumber in the Centrale Copenhagen area.
AK Lift starts up, and soon AK Lift can offer up to 30 different lifts for rental customers. Warehouse and office are moved to Vanløse.
The first scaffolding frames are on the drawing board. The idea is to make a flexible and light scaffolding.
AK Lift is sold off.
JUMBO’S first standard products are developed, only a few such as frames in 2, 1 and 0.5 meters.
The construction and plumbing business is sold off.
Production, warehouse and office move to Platinvej in Kolding.
JUMBO Lift is started and we start producing articulated boomlifts and telescopic lifts.
JUMBO Stillads A/S is recognized as a Børsen Gazelle company. The title is awarded by the Danish financial newspaper Børsen to companies that meet six strict, objective financial performance criteria.

JUMBO Scaffolding A/S enters into a collaboration with the German manufacturer of lifts, GEDA. JUMBO currently sells these products in 10 European countries.
JUMBO Stillads A/S develops its own range of Super Proff stepladders and step stools. Production is established at JUMBO’s factory in China. Today, JUMBO distributes these products in 28 countries.
JUMBO Stillads A/S enters into a partnership with a Chinese manufacturer of aluminium boxes. The boxes are manufactured according to JUMBO’s own design. Today, JUMBO distributes these products under an exclusive licence throughout Europe.
JUMBO Stillads A/S develops its own range of Super Proff single ladders, extension ladders, combination ladders and rope-operated extension ladders. Production is established at JUMBO’s factory in China. Today, JUMBO distributes these products in 28 countries.

JUMBO Stillads A/S undergoes a change in ownership. Following a long-standing partnership and joint ownership between the company’s original founder, who established the business in 1969, and the company’s CEO, who has been responsible for the company’s commercial operations since 1998 and has led the business independently since 2006, the CEO acquires the remaining 50% ownership of the company.
